"And the leaves of the trees are for the healing of the nations." –Revelation 22:2
Leaves Dancing in the Wind, handmade paper leaves with branches, installed at The Art & Heritage Center in Windsor, Colorado.
Since I grew up in Wyoming, I have learned to have a good sense of humor about the wind. It tends to blow a bit there at times. In fact, I like to joke around about how the Wyoming State Bird is a 4 x 8-foot sheet of plywood. For the avid bird-watcher, no binoculars are needed!
Years ago when I was visiting Oregon, a gentleman asked me where I was from and when I told him he said, "I thought you seemed to walk with a slant!" The wind in Wyoming is legendary. Even though I have learned to dance with it like the leaves on the trees do, I went with the flow and I allowed it to push me into Colorado where I happily live to this day.
Every element of nature fascinates me and I appreciate the many lessons they tend to offer. Please join me and other regional artists working through many mediums as we come together to exhibit our interpretation of the "Forces of Nature" in this unique juried art exhibition.
